It will read the disc and let me select the main feature, but after that it won't work. I also tried another region 1, Buffy Season 1, Disc 1, and received the same message. (Looked like the exact same log output I've been seeing, plus error codes at what I'm assuming are obfuscated source locations, so I dunno if there's any point to post that debug log here as well.When trying to rip Book Club, it keeps giving me errors that I've never seen before. I've tried at least a dozen times to rip a disc using MakeMKV but I keep getting the Scsi error that says MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR occurred while reading directory at offset blah no matter how many times I patiently wipe the whole disc. On my system (slackware 14.2 32bit) if I connect an external dvd drive (usb2 sadly) then MakeMKV spits out this error: Debug log started at Wed Jun 14 12:33:51 2017, written by MakeMKV v1.9. Saw the FAQ link in your sig, turned on debug logging and sent it to the support email, hopefully there's some helpful info there. ERROR SCSI-Fehler - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION. Not USB in this case but SATA, so dunno if there's anything there. I don't *think* it's the disc in this case, unless it's some manufacturing defect that would affect multiple copies of the disc in the same way (but that's certainly possible.) The app should handle these kinds of errors, by interpolation if necessary, when there are no visible defects on the disc and replacement after replacement disc yields the same failures. Something has caused the drive to become unresponsive, usually related to the disk itself, but sometimes related to hardware (USB drives can run out of power when they go fast, but that error usually is different).įrom my experience, the drive has decided to keep trying to read a sector that it couldn't read, and so it ignores calls from the operating system to report its status. MakeMKV is a fantastic tool for decrypting discs and creating. Everything worked, and the file is successfully serving from my NAS via Plex to clients. My drive is an ASUS BW-16D1HT on FW 3.00: FYI - MakeMKV rip took 2+ hours HandBrake took 30 minutes. Interestingly, the offsets are always exactly the same, on every attempt, and with both copies of the disc.
